As decorators you are faced with more challenges today when heat pressing transfers because of the variety of fabrics used. Following our tips will help you streamline the process and in return increase profit.
ADJUST YOUR SETTINGS
ALWAYS USE A COMMERCIAL HEAT PRESS! Home iron or hobby equipment do not provide even temperature and pressure that is needed to accurately apply our transfers. Set your time and temperature to the recommended settings that you receive with your transfers. Keep in mind these are recommended settings, time & temperature can vary depending on garments or heat press.
Load Your Garment
Lay your garment on to the platen and preheat the garment for 3 seconds to create a smooth/flat pressing surface.
Place Your Transfer
SCREEN PRINTED TRANSFERS: Place your transfer face down or right reading on your garment. DIGITAL, VINYL & RHINESTONE TRANSFERS: Remove mylar backing, place your transfer right reading on your garment. SUBLIMATION TRANSFERS: Place your transfer face down or right reading on your garment. SUBLIMATED APPLIQUE: Place your applique right reading on your garment. APPLIQUE: Remove mylar backing, place your transfer right reading on your garment.
Press Your Transfer
Press and peel your transfers according to the instructions provided with your order. HOT PEEL: Peel off backing immediately after opening your heat press. WARM PEEL: Peel off backing approximately 3-5 seconds after opening your heat press. COLD PEEL: Allow garment and transfer to fully cool before peeling off backing.

Peel your backing in a smooth motion from one corner diagonally across the sheet.
KNOW YOUR FABRIC
Take the time to asses your fabric before application. Examples would be fabric makeup, color, dye migration, texture, coatings, and wash/wear durability.
Always pre-press your garment to avoid shrinkage and remove extra moisture to get better adherence.
IF YOU HAVE ISSUES STOP!
KNOW YOUR TRANSFER TYPES
It is important to choose the correct transfer for your fabric type. Always specify garment type when placing orders to ensure the correct product is used.
Test different times & temperatures. You are always best to decrease temperature and press longer if issues occur.
We recommend testing on any new or unfamiliar products. You can cut your logo into sections and apply to avoid wasting transfers/garments.
Periodically check your temperature with a digital surface pyrometer.
If you are having issues with transfers adhering stop immediately. Verify that you are following the directions supplied with your transfers. If you are still having issues begin testing. Always test on the same garment or ruined garment to avoid added costs. Adjust time, temperature and peeling technique. Do not begin pressing new garments until you feel you have resolved the issue. Unfortunately every garment reacts differently that is why we always recommend testing before you begin production. THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT YOU RECEIVE ARE RECOMMENDED SETTINGS, WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND TESTING.
